About the author: Jon Kabat-Zinn, Ph.D. is a writer, scientist and meditation teacher. He is Professor of Medicine at the University of Massachusetts Medical School, where he was the founding executive director of the Center for Mindfulness in Medicine, Health Care, and Society, and founder and former director of its world-renown Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction (MBSR) Clinic. His pioneering research on mind/body interactions for healing and on clinical applications of mindfulness meditation for people managing chronic pain and stress-related disorders. His work has won numerous awards and has contributed to a growing movement of mindfulness into many mainstream institutions.
